Beginning the Journey to Becoming a Connected Learner

I think that the above graphic effectively describes how to be a connected teacher, To be a  connected teacher, we truly need to become a connected learner first.   Since I am not currently teaching/part of a personal learning community, my current focus is to work on building a personal learning network. Joining twitter and connecting with others in the education world is one of the first steps that I have taken towards building this network. My next steps include spending more time on twitter and building connections. Starting this blog and finding other like-minded bloggers are also steps that I am taking to reach out and connect.  I believe that while I work on building my personal learning network, that I will begin to meet people that could one day be a part of my community of practice. It feels a bit premature at this point for me to zero in on a community of practice, as I don't know what role I will return to when I start working again. I guess that I could build a
